The Jade Buddha for Universal Peace, above, can be viewed for free at 1980 Senter Road, San Jose, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and until noon Friday. A closing ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
The Jade Buddha drew throngs of more than 3.5 million during its 2009 tour of Vietnam and attracted an estimated 120,000 people last winter at stops in San Diego and Houston.
Co Lam Pagoda unveiled the Jade Buddha for Universal Peace — a nearly 9-foot-high Buddha carved entirely out of one block of jade, that will be at the temple through Aug. 29.
