An update to Google Gemini has brought the Talk Live feature introduced on the Galaxy S25 to the Pixel 9 series and Galaxy S24 series, with a rollout for more models planned.

Samsung is positioning the Galaxy S25 series as the ultimate AI companion, enabling conversations with devices that feel remarkably human. This is all due to the Galaxy AI suite of advanced AI features available onboard.

Being the more svelte smartphone, I think the Samsung Galaxy S25 generally feels better to handle and use than the Google Pixel 9 Pro. Samsung's phone is smaller than Google's in every dimension and significantly lighter, so naturally, as a small-phone fan, the S25 speaks to me.

It's becoming more and more clear that you simply cannot launch a new smartphone these days without paying loads of attention to the included AI assistant. This is as true as ever with today's launch of the Galaxy S25 series,

The Galaxy S25 series has removed the Samsung Messages app in favor of Google Messages for a better RCS experiance.

Samsung, on Friday, announced that Google’s Gemini Live assistant will be available in Hindi on the newly launched Galaxy S25 series, as the company increases its focus on India. It is not yet clear if or when the feature will be available to older Samsung smartphones that support Galaxy AI.

It’s no secret I’ve been critical of Galaxy AI in its current form on the new Samsung Galaxy S25 phones. It needs a bit more polish to be ready for prime time, especially if Samsung wants to use it as the main reason you’d buy a new Samsung in 2025.
