It’s the week of top prospects in Boston. Roman Anthony, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, was called up and made his big league debut at Fenway Park on Monday in the series opener against the Rays.

Rookie Marcelo Mayer hit two of Boston’s four solo home runs and the Red Sox outlasted the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Wednesday night. Abraham Toro added a go-ahead homer in the fifth inning, and Jarren Duran also hit one to help Boston earn its second series win over the Rays this season.

But he's not the only star rookie in Boston. The Red Sox previously called up shortstop Marcelo Mayer, the No. 8 prospect in the sport. And he broke out Wednesday night with two home runs in his first two at-bats to lead the Red Sox to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
