Publisher Nexon filed a lawsuit against Dark and Darker developer on April 14. The game was removed from Steam after a cease and desist, but developer Ironmace held a play test through torrents.

Nexon filed suit against Ironmace in 2021 - years before Dark and Darker had become a breakout hit on Steam - accusing the studio of both copyright infringement and trade secret infringement.

Dark and Darker caught us by surprise in 2023. Developed by IRONMACE, it has seen some issue with Nexon attempting to claim the developers used assets that were unapproved.
