A deadly crash is under investigation after a motorist plunged into a wash in the San Gabriel Valley overnight. This video aired on the KTLA 5 Morning News on Sept. 19, 2024.

He refused to pull over, prompting a brief pursuit, according to El Monte PD. After a short time, the suspect jumped out of the car and tried to run away from the officers.

De Jong didn’t have a description of the suspect or the getaway car. El Monte police received a call about a “man down” at Bodger Street and Nevada Avenue at 8:49 p.m., De Jong said.
