FLINT, Mich — Eric Mays, a Flint, Michigan, city council member known for activism during the city’s water crisis and for disruptive behavior at public meetings, has died.
During a 2017 council election where four incumbents lost, Mays held onto his seat in the First Ward, one of the poorest, most crime-ridden areas in the city. He is unopposed in this year’s race.
