Oregon State’s Kellan Oakes just missed on a full-count pitch to Alicea to start the bottom half of the ninth, and the Cardinals had a runner on first. Then a catcher’s interference call and a fielding error by Oakes on a bunt loaded the bases with no outs.

Louisville saw its 3-run lead disappear in the 9th inning, but scored in its last at-bat to walk-off Oregon State in a CWS elimination game.
The Cardinals will face the Chanticleers tomorrow — Wednesday, June 18 — with their next game slated for the following day, June 19, if Louisville advances. The Cardinals are close enough to taste the glory of CWS victory, but it will take incredible endurance and perhaps a bit of luck, as always.
