New York City has tied its record for the longest stretch without a homicide in recorded history. The city went 12 calendar days -- Nov. 25 to Dec. 7 -- without a homicide, according to New York Police Department data.

Atlanta murder suspect arrested in New York City, police say
A man wanted in a deadly October shooting in southwest Atlanta was arrested in New York City, according to police.
NYPD data released Monday showed that the current level of homicides — now 287 through Sunday — was impacted by 12 days in which the city experienced no killings, a streak that tied the previous low reached in 2015. The streak ended Sunday evening with a shooting death of a man in a Bronx public housing area.
STAMFORD — A shooting victim was dropped off at Stamford Hospital Monday afternoon, according to police. Officers responded to Stamford Hospital at 3:27 p.m. Monday for a report of a man dropped off with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, Stamford Assistant Police Chief Richard Conklin said.
