Thousands of people marched through downtown Denver on Saturday to protest actions by the Trump administration, notably his campaign to deport foreign nationals illegally staying in the U.S.

Dozens of Regional Transportation District routes were detoured or delayed throughout metro Denver on Saturday as thousands of Coloradans gathered for “No Kings” protests.

After the town of Parker tried to cancel a “No Kings” protest due to the Parker Days Festival on Saturday, the event is taking place anyway.

Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.

The demonstrations come on the heels of protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids that began last week and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.
