Snow dumped hard in Wrangell on Tuesday and Wednesday, more than 18 inches, prompting Wrangellites to help each other shovel.

Wrangell’s federally recognized tribe, the Wrangell Cooperative Association hired a new tribal administrator in June.

Wrangell’s Vice Mayor David Powell was fined last month after pleading guilty to negligently possessing and transporting an illegally harvested bull elk. His brother, Aaron Powell, was also fined.
