An Oma Pacific bluefin tuna, weighing 608 pounds, sold at Tokyo’s Toyosu Market. It’s one of the most expensive tuna fish to be sold in the history of sushi.

A bluefin tuna was sold for $1,316,835 (207 million yen) on Sunday (January 5), marking the second-highest bid at Tokyo's Toyosu fish market's annual auction since its inception in 1999, according to market organizers.

A 608-pound bluefin tuna was sold on Jan. 5 at a Tokyo fish market for over $1.3 million, the catch going jointly to a tuna wholesaler and a sushi restaurant.
