The power of the US military will be sharply on display this weekend – on two different coasts and in two very different ways.
With migrant communities already living in fear amid the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, ICE raids in downtown Los Angeles sparked days of protests.
Protests then erupted in Paramount after it appeared federal law enforcement officers were conducting another immigration operation in the area. Hundreds of people joined demonstrations as they spread to the nearby city of Compton.
The one-mile-radius curfew covers a portion of downtown Los Angeles. Parts of Chinatown, Little Tokyo, the Fashion District, and the Arts District are within or near the curfew's boundaries. You can see the curfew's parameters in full, below:
Many of the nation's largest cities have held anti-ICE protests in solidarity with Los Angeles and as a broader criticism of the administration's hardline immigration policies, which include federal immigration raids and deportations.
