White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to Fox News on Monday evening to clarify the role of Elon Musk in President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This came amid rumors of a power struggle and criticism from Democrats since the announcement to dissolve the U.

Elon Musk has only been advising the president as he "has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself," according to the Office of Administration.

"This is the chainsaw for democracy," said Musk, the unofficial leader of DOGE, to a crowd of Republicans in Washington D.C.
