South Old Woodward between Maple Road and Lincoln Street (and portions of select side streets) will be closed to vehicle traffic during the Birmingham Shopping District’s cruise event from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Corvettes on Woodward first gathered at the Kingsley Hotel in Birmingham, where it eventually burst at the seams. Over 500 Corvettes were crammed into a hotel lot with 180 parking spaces. When the group spilled out on to Woodward for a lap of the Cruise route, the chain would run for seven miles.

The Woodward Dream Cruise happens every year on the third Saturday in August. This year, it will be held on Aug. 16, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Here are the municipal parking locations near the Woodward Dream Cruise: City of Birmingham: All activities are within walking distance of the city’s downtown parking decks.
