Saco Maine News. With the closing of long-time Biddeford arts non-profit Engine, another local non-profit has launched an initiative to continue the support of art in the city.

Oct 10, 2024 · Three people were hospitalized after a one-car crash in Saco on Thursday evening. The Saco Emergency Communications Center received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a single-car crash in the 500 block area of Ferry Road around 6:44 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, according to a press release from Saco Police Chief Jack Clements.

Oct 22, 2024 · The City of Saco has introduced a comprehensive traffic safety program intended to encourage safer driving, walking and bicycling. The need is apparently there: as stated on the city’s website, during the ten-year period from 2013 to 2023, “Saco experienced 45 pedestrian collisions and 72 bicycle involved collisions, according to Maine DOT’s Crash Query Tool.”

At a Town Council workshop Tuesday night, Don Ettinger of engineering company Gorrill Palmer laid out the details of a proposed $16 million plan to make improvements from Route One in Saco to the Halfway Intersection in Old Orchard Beach.
