Hartford is a progressive and growing community. HISTORY OF HARTFORD (and other history facts) 1861: The Territory of Dakota was organized. 1862: County of Minnehaha established. 1867: The boundary lines of Hartford Township were surveyed and subdivided. Craig Wagner is the Public Works Superintendent for the City of Hartford. Craig can be reached at 528-6509. Bio: Craig was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to South Dakota in 1978 when his parents and uncle bought Sioux Well Drilling. He worked for the business doing pump repair and service work until 1994.
