Lee Stanley was the 20th Sheriff of Sacramento County who served as Sheriff from 1890 to 1892. At seventeen, he arrived in California during the 1850 Gold Rush, first mining near Mount Gregory, then partnering at Work Ranch, ten miles above Georgetown. Stanley moved to Sacramento and built a teaming business hauling goods to mining towns. In 1890, backed by the
