The Palisade Exhibit—a reconstruction of the original—sits approximately where the wooden fortification stood in 1836 when it stretched between the southwest corner of the church and the northeast corner of the low barracks. The exhibit and accompanying cannon reproductions provide our visitors with an opportunity to place themselves in the same spot where the Defenders made their stand against General Santa Anna and his troops. | The Alamo
