Kodiak bear traffic. Where there’s a good food source, there will be bears. These Kodiak bears are congregating at a man made fish pass on the south end of Kodiak Island. Kodiak bears hanging out at the Fraser fish pass on the south end of Kodiak Island. The fish pass is designed to funnel red salmon from the river, past a waterfall and into Fraser lake. We travel there in late July early August to view the bears as they gather at the bottom of the contraption where it is easy to catch the salmon. Usually, there are moms, cubs and young bears here- as the large males have long since learned that they are the target of sport hunters and will avoid humans. #kodiak
