The Peoria Historical Society Annual History Bus Tours run throughout the summer and through October featuring the following Peoria history topics: Roll Out the Barrel, Naughty to Nice, River City, Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery, Abraham Lincoln & the Civil War, The Art & Architecure & Haunted Peoria. Tours take place on Fridays & Saturdays featuring specific tours each month. Tickets are $15 for each tour and are available at the PHS Office (located at 611 SW Washington Street in Peoria)

In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s Peoria was on the precipice of major change and growth. The Murray Baker Bridge had just been dedicated and Peoria was preparing to build a new County Courthouse. Peoria was a city that had pledged itself to progress.
