There’s no spot in California like the southeastern corner for blistering summer temperatures, which is what makes the Palo Verde Ecological Reserve so fascinating. So much cool shade has been created through the planting of cottonwood, willow and mesquite that a huge herd of deer (and other wildlife) are thriving at the reserve, which is just outside of Blythe.
