Back in 2024 I did this repair and MOD on my first ever NES-101 Top Loader. What do you think, is it time for me to make another MOD video? The initial issue was it won't accept and play a game. Once I get it working again, I do an AV mod for better video and sound quality. These top loaders can be worth $200 or more, if they are working, and this was a fun project to work on. | TronicsFix

Nintendo Switches can take a beating… but sometimes they’ve been through way too much. Back in 2024, I picked up two broken Switch consoles: one that survived a house fire and has a bunch of internal corrosion, and another that won’t dock properly and has a drifting, worn-out analog stick. So in this video, I’m tearing them down, cleaning them up, replacing what’s broken, and seeing if we can bring these battle-worn Switches back to life. iFixit cleaning kit: https://geni.us/cleaning-kit Joystic

Have you ever wondered if expensive Dyson products were repairable? That's what I'll be finding out in this first video of my new video series: Are They Repairable? Nope! I have a Dyson fan, hair dryer, and vacuum that I'll be working on to see what all is wrong and if I can fix them. | TronicsFix

I bought this PlayStation 5 in early 2024 because it wouldn't update and showed error SU-101312-8. The screen said "Something went wrong" and I was determined to figure out what that "something" was. I noticed that the eject button for the disc drive doesn't work so luckily that gave me somewhere to start. | TronicsFix

This video is from the 2nd Steam Deck I tried to fix - when they were still pretty new and finding parts was difficult. Still a fun project though. The seller said he tried to replace the SSD and ended up breaking off the speaker connector. I was hoping to be able to just replace the speaker connector but, like I said above, back in early 2023 those were difficult to buy so I had to get creative with this fix. I bought 4 "refurbished" game consoles from Temu so I can see what the condition is on the outside and then open them up for a thorough inspection of the inside. Hopefully we can see what is so "refurbished" about them. The four consoles are a Switch Lite, a PS5, a Switch OLED, and a Nintendo 64. | TronicsFix

So this one didn't go as planned. I was excited to find a "broken" Switch 2 at a second-hand store but it wasn't what I expected. Luckily I had another broken Switch 2 that I bought off eBay that had a bit more wrong with it: a broken thumb stick and a non-functional SD card reader. | TronicsFix

One of my viewers got this Original Xbox Debug Kit from a former Microsoft employee - but they were told it's broken. So they sold it to me so I could see if I can get it working again. Initially it seems to work fine but something is weird with the disc drive and it won't play a game. This is my first time working on a console like this so it should be interesting. | TronicsFix

Remember when I worked on this rare console? In 2024 I paid $124 for this broken Taco Bell Gold PS4. When I tested it, it ended up having the blue light of death. The two most common causes of BLOD are APU issues or hard drive issues. Not what I was expecting but thankfully this repair attempt actually turned out pretty good. | TronicsFix

I paid over $500 for 3 broken Nintendo Virtual Boys to see if I could fix them. I've never owned one of these before but I'm excited to work on them because they were the original VR systems. They were released in 1995 but were never that popular. Still some interesting retro tech. Tell me in the comments if you ever owned or played one of these. | TronicsFix

I paid $350 for this broken Steam Deck. The seller said they dropped it and broke the screen, but then they replaced it and it worked for a while and then stopped working. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out what is wrong and get it working again. | TronicsFix

Sell me your BROKEN Pokémon games here: https://tronicsfix.com/sell-steve-your-stuff In 2022 I worked on this Pokémon Game Boy game where corrosion had eaten away the traces on the circuit board. For this fix I decided to try something new (for me): installing all the game chips and other components onto a brand new board. I bought this broken Nintendo 64 Zelda Majora's Mask Game because they can sell for up to $400 if they're in good working condition. It's really gross on the outside and the pins are really dirty too. Once I get it cleaned and working, I'll be sending to CGC Video Games to be graded. It'll be interesting to see how that process works and how they grade this game. | TronicsFix

The Sega CDX can play game cartridges, game discs, and even music CDs, which basically makes it the ultimate all-in-one retro console. Only about 5,000 units were ever sold, and these days they go for anywhere between $500 and $1,000 on eBay. When I got my hands on this broken one, you can bet I was excited to see if I could bring it back to life. The first problem? The batteries were so corroded I couldn’t even remove them. So before anything else, I need to completely tear it down and deal wit

Ever been ripped off buying a “fixable” console? I was thinking back to some of the worst times that’s happened to me and this one from early 2024 really stands out. From the moment I opened the box things were not looking good. The box wasn’t sealed properly, the bag of screws was wide open, and there was zero padding protecting the console. By the time it arrived, quite a few components had also been knocked off the board. It was a mess but I was determined to at least try to get it working ag

This repair sparked a bit of controversy when I first posted it… Did I really fix it - or does it not count? You be the judge. I bought this Special Edition God of War PSP from a seller who claimed he "didn't have time to fix it" after he broke it "replacing the battery." When powered on, the PSP had no display at all. So in this video we dig in, diagnose the issue, and see if this rare handheld can be brought back to life. | TronicsFix

Back in 2024, a viewer sent me this Zelda Ocarina of Time Nintendo 64 game because they were hoping I could fix it and get it working again. The outside of the game looked pretty good but the inside was a different story. So much liquid damage! But you know I like a challenge. This videos is from a couple years ago when I got my hands on this Pokémon Emerald Game Boy Advance cartridge after a viewer bought it on Mercari but couldn’t get it working. They passed it on to me to see if I could bring it back to life. When I got it open, it was pretty messed up: damaged circuits and pads, plus several chips that needed to be carefully resoldered. I even had to add a few jumper wires to connect the broken pins on one of the chips. It wasn’t easy, but in the end this little G

This video from early 2024 reminds me how much I love working on retro gaming systems. And that I definitely need to do more of them. This Nintendo Donkey Kong Junior tabletop arcade is such a cool piece of gaming history. Repairs like this are so much fun because older systems are so much different than modern consoles and it's so satisfying to get them fully working again. | TronicsFix
