When we visited Calico for the Halloween Haunt event we took the Train ride. It offered a different view and perspective of the tiny town that was once again bustling with crowds of people. Calico was a silver mining town. It was built in the early 1880s. By 1907 it was empty when the silver veins were exhausted. In 1951 it was purchased by the owner of Knotts Berry Farm, Walter Knott, and he worked at preserving the history of the town. He then donated it to San Bernidino County. The town hosts
